Alta Mira Early Intervention
Description: Early Intervention services from Alta Mira Specialized Family Services support families in identifying and responding to developmental delays or disabilities in their children. Through evaluations and parenting classes, Alta Mira helps ensure children reach their full potential by addressing concerns early and promoting healthy development.
FOCUS Program
Description: The FOCUS Early Intervention Program (formerly Los Pasos, SELECTT, and GRO) supports families of children birth to three in Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Valencia Counties. Funded by the Department of Health, FOCUS offers developmental assessments, early intervention services (including therapy, family support, and social work), community referrals, infant mental health support, and primary care. Its multidisciplinary team—including pediatricians, therapists, social workers, and more—works to strengthen family resilience, promote healthy parent-child relationships, and improve overall well-being. Services are provided in English and Spanish, utilizing a nationally recognized model that fosters positive social-emotional development and reduces home violence and substance use.
Inspiration Early Intervention
Description: Inspirations is an early intervention program, serving children birth to three with or at risk of developmental delays or disabilities. They offer free, family-centered, transdisciplinary services in home and community settings. Funded by state, Medicaid, and private insurance, no child is turned away due to inability to pay. Inspirations is committed to providing flexible, individualized support to promote each child’s development.
New Mexico School for the Deaf
Description: The New Mexico School for the Deaf (NMSD) is a statewide provider of educational, early intervention, and outreach programs for children and youth from birth to 21 who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Accredited by the North Central Association and CEASD, NMSD collaborates with families, school districts, and communities to meet the communication and learning needs of students. The school offers a bilingual American Sign Language and English environment, providing high-quality instruction and diverse activities to support lifelong learning and success for students in an increasingly global society.
